For the devoted staff at North Shore Animal League, what could have been a routine rescue has become a Cinderella story of sorts.
In December of 2002, a rot/shepherd/you-name-it mix was brought in with an injured leg, having been hit by a car. When no one claimed him, the surgeon decided to amputate the leg. The surgery was performed on Christmas Eve and the scared, soulful puppy was named most appropriately “Tiny Tim”.
Lovingly rehabilitated by North Shore’s own “dog whisperer” Mike Malloy, Tiny Tim waited patiently (four months to be exact!) for the right someone to come along. While he waited, Tiny became a favorite of the shelter for his loving and calm demeanor.
On his 40th birthday, John Bartlett visited North Shore Animal League in search of a rescue and it was love at first hairy sight. John and Tim have been together for over 5 years and to celebrate this, we have designed a special t-shirt (for guys and gals too!) in support of all fashion hounds everywhere. The profits from the tees will go directly to North Shore Animal League.
Please join us on Saturday, May 24, for John Bartlett’s first annual Tiny Tim North Shore Animal League Adoptathon.
